Message from the Kindergarten Principal

Ms. Rana Ghazzawi

Kindergarten Principal

Dear Parents,
We are delighted to extend a warm greeting to you from the Kindergarten at the International Pioneers Academy Schools.

We hold great pride and appreciation for entrusting us with your precious children during this crucial phase of their early childhood education, encompassing both the national and international programs.

Early childhood, spanning from three to five years, is a highly significant stage that requires diligent efforts to uncover children’s abilities, interests, and to hone their skills. This ensures balanced and sound development, making their transition to the next educational stage smooth, easy, and natural.

At the International Pioneers Academy’s KG, we are committed to keeping pace with modern developments and requirements. Thus, we have diligently worked on updating our Kindergarten curriculum to align with the child’s needs, cognitive and technological advancements, all within clear global standards and in harmony with educational theories based on brain research.

We have placed particular emphasis on languages as they are crucial to a child’s proper cognitive and social development. Special attention has been given to teaching English in the national program, similar to its importance in the international program. This includes selecting competent teachers, modern curricula, and adopting advanced teaching methods. Similarly, the Arabic language is reinforced in the international program, just as it is in the national program.

To preserve our identity and heritage, we have dedicated daily sessions to Quran recitation and simplified interpretation, complemented by a distinguished program for applying moral values, recognizing the importance of learning them at this age.

To enhance our children’s learning across all subjects, the Kindergarten offers a variety of purposeful activities, scientific and recreational trips that all children participate in.

As partnership is one of our core institutional values, we emphasize maintaining effective and productive communication between us and you, thereby reinforcing our Kindergarten’s role as a safe educational haven that collaborates with all partners to ensure the necessary academic well-being of our children.

We aspire to achieve our goal of nurturing a generation that attains the highest possible status, equipped with deep faith, sharp intellect, noble character, and broad knowledge.

The Kindergarten in a Few Lines

We believe that early childhood is a crucial phase in the overall life of a person, particularly in the life of a child, where most personal characteristics, traits, and elements of growth are formed. Recognizing the importance of early childhood, we adopt a holistic approach aimed at developing all aspects of a child’s growth, including cognitive, emotional, physical, and social development, equally. We believe that the child is a symbol of success and achievement, so we have ensured diversity in the educational process, catering to all learning styles at this stage. The Kindergarten has made the preparation and qualification of students for transition to subsequent educational stages a central goal, as evidenced by the adoption of international standards in Arabic, English, Science, and Mathematics curricula.

Curriculum

Science

The Kindergarten has adopted the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), which focus on teaching children scientific research and inquiry methodologies for learning scientific concepts. This approach forms the foundation for achieving desired learning outcomes in the main science areas: structures and processes, Earth systems, energy, motion, and matter.

English Language

Language is closely tied to culture, each reinforcing the other. Early childhood is one of the most critical periods for a child to develop language skills and acquire numerous vocabulary and language patterns that expand their knowledge and culture. The Kindergarten has adopted an English language curriculum based on global standards for language learning, contributing to knowledge building by providing equal opportunities for children to explore the world through reading and writing. Reading and writing are keys to understanding and the pathway to mature ideas, offering children a rich opportunity to explore the world and learn more about themselves and each other.

This curriculum provides a clear methodology for enabling children to acquire essential language skills, focusing on phonemic awareness, spelling, analysis, high-frequency words in English, and fluency. It also adheres to global language standards to equip children with skills and knowledge related to various literary arts, enabling them to analyze texts in ways that are appropriate to the developmental stage of Kindergarten children.

Educational Corners

Educational corners contribute to the holistic development of a child’s personality. They satisfy a child’s need for play and enhance their inclination towards learning, as they provide opportunities for self-directed learning suitable for various learning styles during early childhood. The corners offer an environment filled with diverse sensory stimuli that enable children to gain experiences, concepts, knowledge, and vocabulary, in addition to social and life skills that help them positively adapt to their community, practice problem-solving, communication, innovation, and participation.

Physical Education and Sports

A child’s motor development is closely linked to cognitive, emotional, and social development. Physical activity is a vital element in promoting a child’s health, large and small muscle growth, and motor coordination during early childhood. Motor experiences and activities lead to exploring and sometimes challenging a child’s abilities, fostering feelings of success and enjoyment in participation.

Playtime

Play is one of the most crucial developmental needs for children, providing them with endless opportunities to learn, grow, and explore. It contributes to increasing awareness and self-esteem while enhancing motor development. Play develops imagination, creativity, and independence, all of which contribute to boosting a child’s self-confidence. As with educational corners, playtime fosters unlimited social skills.

Mathematics

Mathematics is one of the most important subjects in the digital age we live in today. Given the urgent need to equip our children with a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts to ensure better opportunities for achievement and future employment, the Kindergarten has adopted a mathematics curriculum based on global standards developed by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM).

Arabic Language

Language is closely tied to culture, each reinforcing the other. Early childhood is one of the most critical periods for a child to develop language skills and acquire numerous vocabulary and language patterns that expand their knowledge and culture. The Kindergarten has adopted an Arabic language curriculum based on global standards for learning language skills, focusing on the four essential skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

Quran

The Kindergarten’s philosophy emphasizes connecting children with the core values of their community through emotional education that fosters their sense of belonging to their religion, nation, and pride in their identity. The Kindergarten adopts modern methods for memorizing Quranic verses as a foundation for achieving this philosophy.

STEM Program

STEM is a comprehensive educational system that integrates four core learning areas: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. It focuses on the connection and integration among these subjects. The aim of the STEM program is to equip students with 21st-century skills and prepare them for real-world challenges and future careers. The Kindergarten offers a comprehensive STEM program, stemming from the belief that today’s children are the primary resource for future investment.
