Message from the School Principal
Mr. Sari Al-Areedh
School Principal
At the Pioneers International Academy, we take pride in our commitment and comprehensive approach to education,
We set high standards and expectations for our students to help them achieve their best. From the moment a new student joins our school community, we strive to ensure they feel happy and have a sense of belonging , as this is crucial for their future success. Our outstanding facilities and dedicated staff enable us to deliver our programs in a warm, friendly environment that caters to all necessary educational needs. We maintain relatively small class sizes to create an atmosphere where students feel comfortable, allowing them to build strong relationships with their teachers. Our goal is to ensure that all students thrive in a supportive and safe environment by:
- Developing individuals who possess a strong global and local mindset, demonstrating resilience and determination to succeed.
- Equipping students with the skills and academic achievements required to access new opportunities and enhance their future prospects.
- Building an ambitious and pioneering school community that collaborates with all parents and stakeholders.

Curriculum
The International Program at the Pioneers International Academy Schools was established in 2010, with our schools being accredited by Cambridge International Education. In 2017, the school received accreditation from Pearson Edexcel Qualifications, enabling us to offer the requirements of the British General Certificate of Education (G.C.E.).
In the same year, 2017, our schools also obtained accreditation for the American programs from Accreditation International, allowing us to offer the American High School Diploma (AHSD) requirements.
Both the British and American programs are accredited by the Jordanian Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education, granting students eligibility for undergraduate programs in universities and colleges in Jordan and around the world.
Overview of School Programs
Our programs and qualifications enable students to pursue higher education in Jordan or abroad, secure better job opportunities, pass English proficiency tests for studying in other countries, and develop the essential skills needed in today’s world.
With these accreditations, the school offers the following programs:
British (G.C.E.):
- Cambridge Primary Checkpoint Exam.
- Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint Exam.
- Cambridge IGCSE/O Levels.
- Cambridge AS and A Levels.
- Pearson Edexcel International Advanced Level (IAL).
American High School Diploma (H.S.D.):
- Advanced Placement Test (AP).
- ACT I.
- ACT Subject Test.
- SAT.
- EST I Test.
- EST Subject Test.
Programs & Qualifications
The international program offers a flexible and stimulating curriculum supported by rich resources and self-development opportunities. We strive to deliver a variety of learner-centered curricula, tailored to different abilities, while focusing on developing skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving techniques.
Foreign program standards are implemented from the early stages, with carefully selected curricula that meet the standards of British education councils and the American Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).
What is the British General Certificate of Education (G.C.E.)?
It is an academic qualification awarded by accredited boards in the United Kingdom (Cambridge International Education, Pearson Edexcel, Oxford AQA).
The British program requirements are covered over four mandatory academic years. During this period, students take British exams and study compulsory subjects according to the Ministry of Education’s guidelines.
The British G.C.E. is considered a high school graduation certificate after completing 12 years of schooling.
We teach this qualification in two stages:
- Ordinary Level (IGCSE/O Level): This level is taught over two academic years in grades 9 and 10, for students aged 14-16.
- Advanced Level (GCE AS & A Level, International Advanced Levels): This level is taught over two academic years in grade 11, where students study Advanced Subsidiary (AS, IAS), and in grade 12, where they study A2 and IAL.
What is the American High School Diploma (H.S.D.)?
The American high school system, followed in the United States and Canada, requires students to study specific subjects from grade 9 to grade 12. Upon completion, students earn the High School Diploma, which qualifies them to apply to top universities in Jordan and around the world.
The American program’s multiple options are covered over four mandatory academic years. Students take international exams suited to their abilities for maximum benefit, along with compulsory school subjects as per Ministry of Education guidelines.
The American H.S.D. is considered a high school graduation certificate after completing 12 years of schooling.
Classes & Syllabus
Primary Stage (Grades 1-6):
The Cambridge Primary Program is an excellent starting point for a student’s learning journey, enabling them to develop their knowledge and skills in core subjects (English, Math, Science, Global Perspectives) and preparing them for progression to secondary education and other educational programs.
In addition to core subjects, students study mandatory school subjects such as Arabic, Islamic Education, Social and National Education, Computer Studies, Art Education, Physical Education, and the Holy Qur’an.
Middle School Program for Grades 7-8:
The Cambridge Middle School program provides a natural progression from primary education, equipping students with the knowledge and skills necessary for future educational programs that lead to official qualifications. This program is characterized by its flexibility, allowing the curriculum to be tailored according to each school’s needs and culture while maintaining relevance to the international curriculum.
Students in this stage study core subjects (English, Math, Science, Global Perspectives) along with mandatory school subjects such as Arabic Language, Islamic Studies, Social and National Education, Computer Studies, Art, Physical Education, and Quran Studies.
Cambridge Checkpoint Tests:
- Students take the Cambridge Checkpoint tests in Grades 6 and 8, which are designed to assess specific skills in English, Math, and Science.
- The tests are prepared and sent by the Cambridge Assessment International Education, but they are administered within the school with invigilators from the British Council.
- Each student receives a detailed report showing strengths and areas for improvement in each subject, providing schools with essential information about student performance and areas needing improvement, which enhances the trust and collaboration between parents and the school.
- The exams are conducted in our schools in April.
- The results of these tests do not affect the students’ school grades in any way.
